“Love one another and help others to rise to the higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy.” – Sai Baba
Love is possibly the strongest human emotion. There has been a great of literature devoted to love over the centuries depicting it as an emotion tied to human relationships. Let's examine love as a healer and energy system. It's worth noting that the heart is the strongest magnetic field of any organ. It is 5,000 times stronger than that of the brain. It’s no wonder that being heartbroken following a relationship breakup can be such an emotional state. The connection between two people is usually felt at the heart center.
When examining love, it is important that we look at the energetic system known as chakras. Chakras are energy points or vortices located in certain areas of the human form. They are considered focal points for the transmission of energy. There are predominantly seven chakras which we consider in the West. Some Eastern practices including Hinduism believe to refer to nine chakra points.

Chakras are subtle energies and run along the spine, on the front and the back of the body. They start at the base of the spine (base chakra) and finish at the top of the head (crown chakra). Each point relates to different associations of emotions and physical characteristics.
The heart chakra is emotionally responsible for compassion, tenderness, unconditional love, equilibrium, rejection and wellbeing. Physically, it governs circulation, immune system regulation and other related functions to include the lungs. Chakras have a physical association with health imbalances. This is affected by the emotional state ranging from the chakra location (heart chakra).
The emotion of love according to Dr. Hawkins who wrote Power vs Force, is a state where you rise up and beyond the ego. It is an unconditional state of bliss. When you are tuned in to this realization from the heart, you awaken to your true potential. You are guided by a force that is greater than yourself. Such people as Gandhi and Mother Teresa are examples of what it means to be guided by love. They saw their work as being greater than their concept of self i.e. they transcended the identification of ego in order to allow a place for love to reside.
Love is a powerful force in terms of health and healing. Our birth rite is one of love. In many religions, it is considered that we are born into this world as an expression of the divine love of our creator. This concept is apparent despite one’s religious denomination. The universe was created out of love. Therefore in order to tune into a healing force, one must reconnect with the energy of love that resides within us. Once we connect to our soul’s highest state of creation, we bring about the highest power to heal any condition. If the body has the power to create disease, illness and pain then the spirit has the power to revoke this state once there is alignment with the energy of love.
