About
I have BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Studies, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary Maths and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I teach Maths on the following: SATs, KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, QTS Numeracy, 11+, 13+ Entrance Exams, A Levels. Exam boards: AQA, Edexcel, OCR
On my free time, I like to do research on what's the latest in Maths, make short videos on various Maths topics (I have quite a few of them), have written few blogs not just on Maths but on lifestyle like travels.
I have taken some short courses on Understanding Special Needs ie Dyslexia, ADHD, and researching on Dyscalculia so as to be able to understand and support pupils with Special Needs.
On the personal side, I enjoy keeping fit. I regularly work out in our local health club on which I am a member. I believe that to be able to teach to my full capacity, I have to be sound not just in mind but in body too.
Bio
I am a qualified teacher with a degree in Maths. I have taught in schools/tutored for over 10 years combined. I am now a full time Maths tutor and enjoying it immensely. I take pride of my pupils getting top exam results and gaining entry to colleges/universities of their choice. My pupils consider me their mentor who always have their back.
Work
Pupils progress faster if they have confidence. This is the first thing I work on. I believe that everybody has great capacity to learn and succeed if they believe in themselves. I have experienced this on numerous occasions. Pupils who had been left behind by the system, given up as a lost cause then turn around, topping their exams when they started to believe that they can be whatever they want to be. The joy in seeing their faces as they top their class, exams or getting into the college/university of their choice is immeasurable.
I first make sure their basic knowledge of the subject is sound then give them challenges to test their skills to move on to a much higher level. I always encourage them to aim for the top prize. This usually motivates them to work that bit more. I always encourage my pupils to be very open about any doubts/questions they have regarding any topic.
