I work with trauma victims, both combat and domestic trauma. I counsel LGBTQ clients in terms of personal growth, personal acceptance and spiritual worth. I primarily use CBT with depressed and anxious patients. Motivational interviewing is used with SA problems or the desire to incorporate lifestyle changes. I have worked for 10 years with the military nd combat PTSD. I keep my notes current at all times.

How I work
I am client centered and work to help the client achieve their goals. I m a liberal Christian counselor, but that is not the focus of counseling unless the client is exploring their own religious conflicts especially their spiritual worth as a member of the LGBTQ community. I have a transgendered granddaughter who began HRT a couple of years ago. I am not an expert in transgender issues but am sensitive to use of proper pronouns and shaming by family. I identify as a lesbian for 30 years.
