You CAN still build one and make it a success!

You have an idea. You’re pretty sure it’s a good idea, and you think it could make a solid business. But how can you find the time to do that while you’re still working your day job?

It’s not as impossible as you might think.

The good news is, by setting a little time aside every day for your dream, you’ll find it goes from something you could only have daydreamed about, to reality. Here are three ways you can boost your motivation, without handing in your notice.

Have a vision

All good things start with a good idea - but then you need to envision what it could become. This is not a pie in the sky, but a chance for you to work out where you’d like to be in a year’s time. Be specific, and break it up into what your day looks like, what it is you’re doing, and what it looks like. 

Set daily goals

Once you know where you want to be, it’s time to work out how to get there. Plan measurable daily steps you can take towards your business getting off the ground, and make sure you’re accountable to them and for them. 

Make sure you have these written somewhere - take them out when you’re feeling demoralized or uncertain, and let them boost you a little bit. You might move slowly, but you’re still moving.

Learn, learn, and learn

Commit yourself to learn by studying everything you can around your field of business. The internet is full of resources from entrepreneurs and business thought leaders who can help you. Consider taking a course, hiring a Coach, or finding a Mentor. This knowledge will stand you in good stead later down the line, as well as helping you to feel motivated, self-assured, and like you’re ready to face the future.
