As a Business Owner and self-employed woman, I know what it is like right now during this time of uncertainty and unrest. Finances have tightened, changes to how you run your business and market your business have had to be enforced and all these changes can lead you to feel more pressure and less in control of the day to day running of your business.
But now more than ever, it is crucial that you take the time out needed to look after yourself not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually.
I always tell my clients that in order to be there for others and to keep functioning positively, you need to fill yourself up first. The metaphor I use is - You need to fill your jug up first before you can pour water into everyone's glass. You cannot run on empty.
So what do you need to ensure you have in place right now to keep going and still remain effective in your business?
Here are a few tips:
1. Make sure you get regular exercise. If you can manage at least 30 minutes of exercise 3 days a week that's a great start. This will not only keep your body healthy but also keep your mind focused and exercise is always a great stress reliever. It doesn't have to be anything too extreme.
