When a relationship ends all too often this can keep you stuck in the past, as you re-live in your mind how things were and what went wrong. Even if things ended mutually, your headspace is often still there in the past and the longer you leave it there, the more it gets used to being there and the harder things become.
Time and space for your stands still and you are no longer functioning in the present, where things are going well, but you are functioning in the past, where you felt the pain or you saw the red flags but didn't take action straight away.
This then floods your head with regrets and then takes effect in your heart and when both heart and head are stuck in the past...boy have you lost that freedom of being fully in the present can give to your future.
You see, by keeping yourself stuck in that past pattern, you lose sight of how amazing your future can really be.
You lose sight of yourself and your capabilities of turning things around for the better and making things awesome.
Add to myWE:
Your past is not your future and your future will always have that darkness looming over it the more and more you stay stuck in that memory of a past relationship.
Don't do that to yourself. Don't shut off a bright future for a dark past...that's crazy.
You deserve more, you deserve better.
I agree when relationships break up it does suck, but what sucks the most, is when you lose sight of your goals and dreams and stop moving forward. That's what staying in the past does to you. It limits your future freedom to truly create the life you want and to be happy and fulfilled in all areas of your life.
Is it really worth it?
