“The more you see yourself as what you’d like to become, and act as if what you want is already there, the more you’ll activate those dormant forces that will collaborate to transform your dream into your reality.” – Wayne W. Dyer
An intention is a strong thought coupled with a determination to get what it is that you want. Many people have intentions, but not everyone follows through so that their intentions become a reality. The intention is a powerful force that you can tap into to create the life that you want.
If you want to live your life on purpose, it is a good idea to learn how to make your intentions your reality. Here are five steps that you can take in order to harness the power of your intentions toward manifesting your desired reality.
Affirm That You Are Here on Purpose.
You exist on purpose. You were created by an intelligent Creator to be on this earth and your purpose is not necessarily to do something, but to be who you are. Be love, be light, be peace and joy to those around you. Being aware that you are more than just cells, organs, systems, and skin is very important to make your intentions your reality.
Add Value to Others.

I’m sure that your intentions are based upon something that you absolutely love doing and that certainly benefits you, but as your purpose is to create a life that you love; remember to add value to humanity as well. By loving and serving others graciously, you are setting forth powerful laws into action that will act as a boomerang and bring back to you heaps of joy and fulfillment.
If you love poetry, allow your passion to be wide open and write or perform your poetry to impact others. The universe will be sure that your personal rewards will be more than you can fathom. Do what you love and keep an eye and ear out for those who need a helping hand. You really will reap what you sow, so be sure to sow love and light.
Align With the Cosmic Energies.
As you align with a creative and powerful Creator, the things you need to line up for your success will line up. You don’t have to wonder and worry about how this or that will work out; just trust and believe that as you align with such a powerful force your intention will become a reality one way or another.
Write and Recite Positive Affirmations.
What you think in your mind and speak out of your mouth is so important. Your current world is actually a result of all of your thoughts and words from the past up until today. That may make you smile or frown depending on what situation you are in.
I’ve heard parents tell their children to “think positive and you can do anything you want in life”, but then turn around and tell their friends how awful their lives are and how they will never amount to much. It is NEVER too late to change things around. Change requires a firm decision to do things differently and persevering through doubts and setbacks.
Go ahead and write down your intentions and post them in a spot that you will see daily. Recite them out loud as often as you can. Say, “I intend to meditate 30 minutes a day to become more spiritually enlightened”, or “I intend to become department manager within one year.” As you do this, you are creating forward momentum toward the achievement of your goals. Know that your thoughts and words are creative and powerful, so be on top and guard against anything negative. If you catch yourself thinking or speaking negatively, immediately replace it with a positive statement concerning your progress toward your goals.
Gratitude is a powerful force. Even if you are not thrilled with some things in your life, state the obvious things that you are grateful for. Be thankful for your home, car, good health, loving partner, children, and heat on cold days, food to eat, etc. As you offer gratitude for the things you have, more good things will come your way.
When you have an intention, powerful forces are set into motion in the universe. Whatever it is that you have in mind is released into the universe and the laws of the universe go to work for you so that your intention will be hand-delivered to you, making your intention a reality. Go for it. Make it your purpose to be a person full of intent and create a life that you love.
