HOW TO PLANNER ORGANIZER TO ACHIEVEYOUR GOALS?

This week I want to share my own tips on planner organizer.

Let’s start with the right feet and make it easy to achieve those goals this 2022!

Today I want to share my top 10 productivity tips on preparing your planner weekly:

  1.  Take one hour on the weekend to organize the week – Taking time to organize it will save you time in the long run. Without planning and strategy, we won’t be getting very far.
  2. Schedule tasks in blocks – Batch your tasks. Phone calls, meetings, appointments, and everything similar batch it on the same block.
  3. Schedule everything, even your breaks – Don’t forget to schedule your breaks, so you take them without feeling guilty. And you don’t procrastinate as you have everything already programmed.
  4. Don’t put your schedule super tight so that you can fit with unforeseen tasks – Always leave some space in your planner; this can be weekly doesn’t need to be daily for unpredictable tasks. An unexpected meeting, a last-minute client call, an urgent report for your manager, etc. This one is key to follow through planners.
  5. Set alarms on your phone – This trick; is gold! Setting alarms to advise you when it is time for an appointment, get ready to get out or do whatever you need without losing time, checking the clock.
  6.
  7.  – Get out of sight of the distractions. During your focus time, put the phone in your drawer.
  8. Have a list of goals handy to check that most of the things you put on your planner are getting you closer to achieving them – Always have the list of goals on the planner. So you can assess each weak if you are on track.
  9. Be realistic when setting up your planner. Less is more – Not by putting more tasks, you will get them done. It’s better to put in our plates what we can take.
  10. Be Purposeful when organizing your week – What is the purpose of all the things you put on the planner weekly? Don’t put tasks only to fill out the planner, be purposeful. Less is more (point 8).
  11. Remember to block time to rest and leisure – This is very important. We need to recharge to make things happen, achieve goals, and be energized and motivated. Remember that, we cannot pour from an empty vase. And we need to refill and recharge ourselves to give the best of us.

Remember that in my blog about setting goals (click here). I talk you about SMART goals; our planner also needs to be SMART.

Remember that the planner is just the breakdown of the milestones that will lead to achieving our big goals.

It’s essential to be intentional with setting that planner for the week. And don’t forget the “reward” after completing all our weekly tasks. What will be getting out completing everything on the planner?

Maybe, is the satisfaction of being closer to your primary goal. Or perhaps it will work better to set a “weekly reward” to motivate you to keep you going.

To even do it more purposeful and intentional, I will suggest, after you set your tasks in your planner for the week. You can journal the questions below.

Four questions to ask yourself every week when you have your planner organized:

  1. Are those tasks helping me to achieve my goals? – Remember that in your planner is our plan and strategy in small steps to get to the final goal.
  2. It’s a balance between the “I must” and “I want”? Obviously, there are many things that we must do, but it should be a balance with the stuff we really want to do. Enjoy the process!
  3. It’s enough balance between rest and tasks? – Rest and recharge are vital to achieving any goal. Make sure you are taking your breaks.
  4. Any of these tasks are wasters? – Be intentional, remember less is more, most of the time. Do what you need to do, not overfill with random tasks without purpose or intention.

I started doing this in 2021, and it was a game-changer for me. Maybe you can think that an hour to organize and make your planner purposeful and intentional is a waster of time. Still, I think it helps you loads to use that hour to do not lose 4-5 hours on the week.

I love that quote that I think it resumes it all:

” For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned”.

~ Benjamin Franklin ~
