This is a world that has entered to a new type of professional career, a new version of personal development, career guidelines and much more tips given by coaches.
But, few people have shown crtisicm on Coaching, as they don't have any degree or professional practice, etc.
So, I am going to tell you the little difference between these two, so you may pick accordingly. What's the job of a Life Coach and what's of a psychologist?
A psychologist is a person who specializes in the study of mind and behavior or in the treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. (Merriam-webstar dictionary). Yes, it's true, they are specialized.
Whereas, a life coach will direct you, will guide you through his/her own personal experiences. Will be there much of, as a friend. Many have this misconception that they don't maintain the privacy or respect confidentiality. But, let me ask you... Who keeps your secrets the most when it comes to confidentiality??? Your friends. Yes, a psychology certificate should be there, but it just adds value to life coaching experience. And , it is a life coach who can tell you that you need a psychologist or not?
Basically, Life Coach is your friendly consultant in any area of life.
My advice; If you think, that there's still some will poet in you and you can fight your problems well, go for a life coaching consultant. If you think, it isn't possible, then go for a psychologist.
