There are two sorts of habits we develop; good and bad. The good ones act as your 'plus' to your qualities and personality.

What about the bad ones?

We all have bad habits. And we are told to leave them from the very start of, when we are able to understand things better. Does leaving them help?

Habits are part of our nature. Be it good or bad, how can one change his/her nature? And, trust me... Noone actually means that, when they ask you to leave any habit. 

Then, what should be done about them?

We have to work on them through self control. And that is a part of our nature, again. Self control is that power that will help you to improvise a bad trait or habit.
