Purpose
Before doing any task, ask yourself on the purpose of doing it. If you are able to find the concrete reasons, you will be driven to work on the task. I asked myself why I wanted to write or learn how to cook? My purpose of writing is to express my thoughts and experiences through words to inspire and create meaningful impacts in the lives of my readers. I learned cooking skills to reach my fitness goals and reduce my expenses of ordering food.
Interests
The second question is to ask on whether you have the interests in doing the tasks. You must be clear about your interests towards the task, as it cushions your consistency and discipline. If you have keen interest in staying fit and looking good, you would be setting your alarm at 5am to hit the gym or go for a run before work. You will go an extra mile to maintain a clean diet. Apparently, you start getting bored over a task if it holds the least interest in you.
Achieve
Lastly, knowing about what you could achieve from these tasks. I took up a degree and did many informal courses for my career progression and pay rise. Your ceaseless efforts for a project in your company, has to bring you incentives and promotion. It would be easier to stay on track and be focused, if you could gauge the positive outcome that awaits ahead.
