Hypnosis
When you know who you are
And can see through your veils
Your old fears become wind in your sails
Then your heart ease unfurled
From the hypnosis of your world
When you know who you are
The darkness the light, love loves it all
Cause love has no fight, what has passed is a dream
What is not here is not what it seems
So pull yourself together now
When you know who you are and nothing to hide
Loves at your feet and the hands at your side
When your ears are your words
The silence can always be heard
When you know who you are
You can't help but let go
You know no ones right
You know you don't know
The paradox becomes less absurd
As your hypnosis unwhirls
So pull yourself together now
What's the matter with..
What's the matter with..
What's the matter with you
Did it crush, did it shatter? Did it break or did it scatter?
Did it tear your little heart in two?
What's done is over
Yeah if you want something new
Just pull yourself together now
So pull yourself together now
So pull yourself together now
So pull yourself together now
All I have is all I need, and all I need is here now.
Damien Rice. Hypnosis [from "Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet" Soundtrack]
This songs always makes me feel peaceful in times of doubts. When you self-doubt all your work, capabilities or even your whole life, this song very soothing and inspirational.
I warmly recommend to listen, paying particular attention to the lyrics as well as the melody.
Words have this hermetic quality in themselves, which conveys deep meaning for the ones who are able to see.
And we are able to see when we observe with our inner eyes, with the vision of our heart.
How do we do that?
Absurdly enough, when we train our inner vision, we begin with listening. Which becomes feeling.
When we learn to see and hear from our inner senses, everything makes much more sense.
A great deal of showing what I mean, can be found in the animation movie “The Prophet” (full title Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet) a 2014 animated drama film adapted from Kahlil Gibran's book The Prophet.
As better told in this article by Katie Priesley :
“Animation's project is to convey a full range of feeling and experience using simple lines, and that's a project Rice's music shares. Rice doesn't have a showy voice, but his delivery and lyrics combine to make deeply emotive music built with uncomplicated tools.”
With very much Love
