What is the Myers Briggs Personality Test? The test was created by a daughter-and-mother team, Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Briggs, to simplify the theory of dominant psychological functions espoused by Psychologist Carl Jung.
The test will assess your preferences based on four primary personality type dimensions to show you which of the 16 personality classifications best fits you. By taking this test, you can gain insight into your own personality and how it impacts the way you see the world around you.
The Myers Briggs Personality Test offers many potential benefits. By helping you to better understand how your mind works as an introvert or an extrovert, the test will give you a keener insight into how you process information in your environment, what things you can do to improve your mental health, and why you do some of the things you do. After you get the test results, you can use the findings to better maintain healthy relationships, resolve conflicts, increase self-awareness, boost emotional intelligence, and understand what makes you tick.
Where to take the test
When you're ready to take the test, there are numerous options. The official site is one option that you should consider. There is, however, a fee to take the test there. While you'll get further information and tools as part of the fee, you might not want to pay any money to do so. Fortunately, you don’t have to because you can instead take the Myers Briggs Personality Test online free of charge. Free options include Human Metrics, 16 Personalities, and Truity.
Regardless of where you take the Myers Briggs Personality Test, be sure to give yourself enough time to complete it. It should take between 10 and 20 minutes to go through the various groups of questions. After you’ve completed the questions, you’ll get the results in short order.
After you take the test and receive the results, you'll have more insight that may improve your mental health since you’ll better understand why you think or feel the way you do sometimes. But remember that a personality test cannot, in and of itself, help you with depression or mental health issues. It can give you insight, but a Professional Therapist is the best route to take if you need help with such issues. And there’s no better way to get such help than via online sessions.
One way you’ll be benefited by online sessions is that you’ll potentially be more open and forthcoming when you do sessions from the comfort of your own residence. Some people feel uncomfortable about the idea of going to a Therapist’s office. But many of those same people will be more open to consulting with a Therapist online given the confidentiality considerations. It will also be more convenient to do the lessons online rather than to have to drive to sessions.
By gaining insight into the way you think and by then working with a qualified Therapist online, you’ll be equipped with the tools to manage your mental illness and to live a productive life. Browse through our list of qualified Online Counselors at WikiExpert can help you.
