What is a Wiki Farm?
A wiki farm is a hosted solution where you can create your own wiki without having to engage a developer.
Why would I use a Wiki Farm
If you are on a limited budget, or just want to get your feet wet with wiki, a wiki farm is a great place to start.
Things to look out for
- Make sure you can easily move your data off if your website grows. No fun having your data held hostage.
- Make sure the host website will be around for a while and offers support. Many of the wikifarms have become abandoned. No fun not having any support.
- Learning curve. All wikis have a learning curve. Each tool is different. A good wiki farm will have training help and videos
