User Product and Procedure Manuals
From Wikiexpert
We have created user manuals for many clients. For an example, please contact us, and we can show you client's "finished" manuals. I say "finished" because wikis allow continuous improvement on your documentation...they are never "finished." See my article Physician,_Heal_Thyself! for a commentary on that!
Once you have your manual written, what will you do with it? Put it on a file server and hope people read it?
Or do you make it
- Dynamic- User can comment and (!) edit (!) it themselves!
- Video - Put video help in context with your documentation!
The clients I deal with are one step further along in their process, and recognize the need for a wiki-based process to let their internal staff and external customers see what they need to see.
Putting your data into yet another data silo doesn't really help. You need people to want to use the process to get the data OUT of the manuals and documentation that you spend time developing. But what if the manual is static? then you can't update it. No one can comment on it, or improve on it.
If you are interested in hearing about what a wiki can do to help your employees and customers do, simply contact us and I will give you some of my time to explain how this can help.
