Upgrade

I will upgrade most MediaWiki installations for $299.


If your wiki is older than version 1.17, you should upgrade to the latest version. To find out what version you have, simply go to the Special:Version page of your wiki.

"The release manager has also issued a strong recommendation that versions not listed above as current version or legacy version should not be used in a productive environment. Remember, versions not included in this table will not receive security updates. That means you need to maintain the latest version.

New releases of mediawiki are done "quarterly" 4-6 months, and the last release was in November 28, 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_release_history

Considerations

Extensions: Not all extensions are compatible with later versions of MediaWiki. Make sure you know what you are doing, or get help before you upgrade your wiki.
